Brief Job Overview/SummaryReporting directly to the AVP of Facilities Management & Plant Operations, responsibilities include assisting with management, supervision and maintenance of the University's Physical Plant, capital equipment and grounds, including management of ongoing and Deferred Maintenance Programs, all trade shops & services, renovations, and Capital Renewal & Replacement projects.
Participation in planning and operational programming of Capital projects & operational budgets.
Maintenance and Physical Plant operational responsibility of Stockton-owned, operated and occupied facilities on and off the main academic campus.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and University regulations, procedures and policies related to the physical condition and operation of the Stockton-owned properties.
Descriptions of Essential Duties/
Responsibilities:
Manage the oversight and administration of day-to-day operations of trade sections of Plant Management as assigned by the AVP of Facilities Management & Plant OperationsDevelop and implement departmental goals & objectives, policy and procedures, manuals, guidelines and technical scope of workAssist in the development of budget, monitors purchases and implements cost saving measuresCreate and implement programs that ensure University compliance with mandatory governmental regulationsInvestigate violations of daily work flows, personnel procedures and recommend remedial actionDevelop, maintain and implement capital improvement, renovation and renewal budgetsWrite specifications for equipment and materials and process same in accordance with applicable state purchasing regulationsWrite requests for proposals for professional services, construction and maintenance contractsRecommend actions that will help assure compliance with federal, state and local regulationsThis position coordinates closely with Public Safety and Residential Life to address repetitive / reoccurring issuesParticipate in off-hour / emergency call in rotationRequired Qualifications7-10 years of progressive experience & responsibilities for Plant Management, 5 years of which are supervisoryStrong background in construction management-related fieldSkill in developing procedures, inspection practices & protocols, prevention management standardsFamiliarity with budget management, purchasing and deferred maintenance programsAvailable 24x7 / on-call rotation as neededPreferred
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in the field of either engineering or construction managementFacilities Management certificateWork experience in higher education environment, civil service regulations & unionized labor contractsScreening Information:
