Phlebotomist
We are currently seeking an experienced Phlebotomist for the Absecon, NJ area.
This is a Part Time position with the potential to grow.
Must be dependable, flexible and have reliable transportation.
Phlebotomist Job Duties:
o Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures.
o Process samples for appropriate storage and transport to the laboratory.
o Enters patient demographic and insurance information into laboratory information system.
o Enters laboratory orders into laboratory information system.
o Maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures.
o Tracks collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection; maintaining daily tallies of collections performed.
o Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations including HIPAA.
o Resolves unusual test orders by contacting laboratory; referring unresolved orders back to the laboratory for further clarification; notifying supervisor of unresolved orders.
Qualifications include:
o High School diploma or its equivalent.
o Ability to use a computer and type.
o Full command, verbal and written, of the English language.
o Successful completion of Phlebotomist training with subsequent certification as a Phlebotomist.
o Minimum of one year relevant experience preferred.
Compensation: Depends upon experience.
